Who am I to say

what makes life valuable,

what gives life meaning?

Ageing, illness, death

will be encountered by all.

So why don't we see?

The old man struggling

to pick his feet up, to walk.

He is also you.

He is also me.

I reach out with compassion,

respond to his needs.
